A coming of age geek short film by Anexo 82
Sinopsis:

On a spring night of 1999, two teens - a videostore clerk and a film buff - set out on an unsual adventure: to deliver the obsolete VHS-tapes to the people who rented those movies the most. In their walk through the streets of oporto, they discover each others fears and anxieties... and love for movies.

A brief history of the project:

“Videoclube” is a passion project for young portuguese director Ana Almeida. Following the festival sucess of her debut, a slasher horror short called “A Noiva” (The Bride, 2007), she developed this coming of age drama set in the end of the 90‘S about movies and love.
Her script was selected by NISI MASA (European Network for Young Cinema) to represent portugal at the 2011 edition of the European Short Pitch in strasbourg, france.

The following year, principal photography took place in the historical center of Oporto (Portugal) and in a modern gameplay store converted into a VHS video store. Filmming took place in seven days with teen stage actors Daniela love and Tiago Jácome taking the lead roles. The film was produced by Anexo 82 and financed partially in the crowdfunding platform Indiegogo.

Inspired by Richard Linklater’s classic romantic film “Before Sunrise”, “Videoclube” is a warm farewell to the 90’s and the time movies had a physical place to be and were something you could take home.
